Here are some answers to some of the most common questions we get asked. If you can't find the answer you are looking for, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
How Can I Pay for my purchase?
Payments can be made through PayPal, Stripe using a debit or credit card or Klarna. This is selected during the checkout process. For more information about Klarna click here.
How much is postage and how quickly will you dispatch my order?
Our working days are Monday-Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. We do not dispatch at the weekends. We aim to dispatch orders with 1-2 working days. Please find all our postage prices here.
We offer 1st and 2nd Class services on deliveries. All orders are sent on a confirmed service (not tracked) which means orders are scanned on delivery for everyone's peace of mind.
Free Delivery for orders over £50 in the UK.
A tracked Next Day Guaranteed by 1pm delivery can be added to your order by messaging us for availability.
Do you post internationally?
Our checkout system calculates post to international countries on an individual country basis. If you are from another country not listed and wish to purchase from us please contact us first for an accurate postage cost. We send all international orders DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid). This means Carroway Cottage are not responsible for any customs charges inccured in the buyer's home country and are to be paid by the buyer. Please also ensure you check the prohibited items in your country.
Please be aware, if a parcel is rejected by the reciever due to the cost of customs charges we will only issue a refund when the parcel is finally returned to us from the mail company. A refund, minus the the postage exprenses and fees incurred by Carroway Cottage Limited, will be returned using the payment method used at checkout.
International orders are sent by Royal Mail international tracked unless the package exceeds 2kg. On this occassion we will use an approriate courier.
International delivery can take anything from 4 to 21 days depending on your county's customs department and we cannot give a gaurenteed delivery date.
What do I do if My Parcel Hasn't Arrived?
Sadly from time to time Royal Mail can take longer than their estimated timescale especially after bank holidays and bad weather. Please ensure your address is correct when ordering - we cannot be held responsible for lost parcels due to an incorrect or incomplete address. If an incorrect address is found to be the reason for non delivery we will have to wait for the parcel to be returned to us before a refund can be provided. If you still require the package the full cost of postage will be required to be paid.
Royal Mail only considers post to be lost after 10 working days from the due delivery date (20 days for European Parcels and 25 days for the rest of the world). Business working days include Monday-Friday and exclude weekends and Bank holidays. Until this time has passed we cannot consider an item lost and we cannot send a replacement or refund however please get in touch so we are aware you are still waiting!
I'm not sure if its the right colour!
Colour Colours can look different on a computer screen than in person. We do our best to represent the colours as best we can by taking photographs in natural light. We are happy to send up to 5 samples of fabrics or trims at a time free of charge if you require an exact match or contact us if you would like colour matching advice. We are happy to help!
Can I return my item?
Please e-mail us if you wish to return an unused item where we can organise the return, replacement or refund within 14 days of receiving your item. Items should be returned in original packaging and in the condition received. We are unable to accept returns once items are used or cut. Please ensure you are happy with colours and size before using. Unless items are faulty we do not refund postage. If faulty please send a photograph of the faulty item to [email protected] and we can organise a replacement to be sent to you.
Do you offer wholesale prices?
Although we are not a wholesaler, we do offer a bulk discount of 10% off all orders over £150 using the code DIS10150. This code cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers. We can also offer discounts if full rolls of fabric or trims are ordered. This is dependent on availability and varies depending on the size of roll. Please contact us with any inquiries.
What is Felt Backed Fabric?
Our felt backed fabric is made in house using the strongest fusing on the market and merino wool blend felt. Felt backed fabric is predominantly used by hair bow makers as it can be cut and glued and won’t fray. Due to the fusing used it is not suitable for machine sewing.
